Everybody must have heard of the viral FACE APP and some might have tried it also.
Everyone must have felt WOW!!!!! , after using the app as it will show how the user looks in their old age.
The huge plus point of this app is that it does a very good job in optimizing an image and makes changes in a perfect manner.
There are a lot of filters available to try in the FACE APP and only some are for free( from which the highlighted part is the old age filter).
FACE APP is an app made by a Russian company which makes it a bit controversial.
#WORKING OF THE APP
FACE APP works wonders as it gets an image of an old user if he uploads his present photo. But the thing behind is that these things are done through specific algorithms.
FACE APP algorithms recognize specific patterns in an image and make changes to it without affecting the whole image which makes no changes to the overall image.
There are other apps which came into this platform in recent years but all of them failed to deliver the perfect outputs which only FACE APP could deliver.
#THE CONTROVERSY
The controversy is going on about the FACE APP as recently the US Senator Chuck Schumer has called for the FBI to investigate the app.
There are so many posts in various social media criticizing the app as they say ' FACE APP IS COLLECTING ALL OUR DATA AND DELIVERING TO RUSSIA'.
The TERMS AND CONDITIONS in the app make everyone tensed as it says :
" You grant FaceApp a perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, fully-paid, transferable sub-licensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, publicly perform and display your User Content and any name, username or likeness provided in connection with your User Content in all media formats and channels now known or later developed, without compensation to you. "
"When you post or otherwise share User Content on or through our Services, you understand that your User Content and any associated information (such as your [username], location or profile photo) will be visible to the public."
The terms and conditions it the app is written in such a way that it grants the app permission to use our uploaded image in various ways.
#RESPONSE BY FACE APP
FACE APP responded to this controversy by saying that :
* They will upload to their server only the photos which user choose
* Most uploaded images are deleted from server within 48 hours
* No data is shared to RUSSIA
* We don't share the information as if you don't log in, it is not possible to link faces with names
# IS IT SAFE TO USE ???
" In my opinion, I would say it is safe to use this app like any other social media apps because we have most of our information in other social media with our photos, names and other details which makes it easier for them to frame appropriate information about us instead, this app only contains photos of us."
